Oregon City Trek LDS testimony Mormon

(Written on the Trek, July 11th,2008,
by Tayla , 17 years old)

My name is Tayla Mae , daughter of Deborah and Earl . I have seven siblings that I know and love individually even more than I ever considered possible. My ancestors include Heber C. Kimball, Orson Pratt, Adam and Eve, Joseph Smith, and many more. I hail from the proud lineage of Ephraim and Israel.

I am a pioneer and my duty is to serve and love God. There never was nor will ever be a duty more important than that.

I have friends in high places and heavenly parents that love and guide me. I have a future family that cheers me on. I am a princess and daughter of God and I have decided to act on it.

I believe in the glory and purpose of every creature. I know that God loves everything form the sun to an earwig. I know he cares for and plans every being and life he creates.

I know there is power in the priesthood and that sacred ordinances exist that seal families, cleanse souls, raise the dead, heal the sick, baptize the departed, and bestow gifts of unimaginable power. I know that someday I will marry a man that posesses this power and it will bless and protect our family.

I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is another testament of God an that it is translated correctly. I believe the Bible supports it and offers guidelines that help bring people closer to God. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and whole and, indeed mormon or more-good in this world. It's teachings are sound simple and they will carry families into eternity.

I know God loves me. I know that tgoing on this Trek has brought me closer to Him and I will be blessed because of it. I know, I know, and I will not forget.

I will not forget my

God.

Zion Lives In Me.

I seal this testimony in the name of JESUS CHRIST, my brother, savior, guide, and friend, whose name has been placed upon me to honor and cherish.

AMEN.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog. My name is Debbie and I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commonly called Mormons.

I wanted t to let you know my feelings about the LDS church. The most important thing for you to know is that I believe in Jesus Christ, that He suffered for my sins, that He died for me and that without Him I cannot return to live with our Heavenly Father. He loves me and has helped me overcome terrible sins through His grace. I love Him and He loves me. He knows me better than I even know myself and my life would be nothing without Him.

The Church of Jesus Christ with its power has been restored to the earth through a living prophet. Just as in the days of the Bible, prophets are on the earth today. The living prophet on the earth TODAY is Thomas S. Monson. He leads God's church on the earth today and is God's mouthpiece. He is helped by 12 apostles, just as in days of old. All leaders of the church are called of God through a line of authority and no one takes the honor upon themselves. There is also no paid clergy in our church.

The Book of Mormon is a history of the people who lived on the American continent in ancient times. It is a record compiled by an ancient prophet of God named Mormon. It was hidden to come forth for US in these latter days. Joseph Smith the first prophet in these latter days was led by God to this book and given the power to translate it.

All of these things I have been taught since my youth but there came a time when I needed to find out for myself if these things were true. When I was 18 years old I read the entire Book of Mormon from cover to cover, fasted and prayed, and asked God to let me know for MYSELF if the Book of Mormon was true. I knew that if the Book of Mormon is true than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is also true. I prayed fervently and recieved a clear and powerful answer that felt like a warm tingling feeling from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. It was like nothing I have ever felt before and I knew beyond a doubt that the Holy Spirit of God was answering my prayer. I knew that the Church was true and that He is in charge of it. I knew the Book of Mormon was true. And I knew that too deny this would be to Deny God Himself.

The beautiful part about our church is that anyone sincerely seeking to know if it is true, if it is of God, can find out for themselves. Moroni, a prophet in the Book of Mormon promised:

"And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. "
